Kit from Bulgaria

Kit was born in December 2009 and is described as a gentle, respectful, and kind child who is always ready to help. She easily makes social contacts, enjoys the company of other children and adults, has emotional connections with her caretakers, and likes to play. Kit is regularly monitored by a cardiologist due to pulmonary valve stenosis and intermittent hypertension. She has also undergone some genetic testing which showed no anomalies. Kit walks, jumps, runs, slides, and swings. She can ride a tricycle and can kick and throw a ball. Kit is potty-trained, dresses herself, takes care of her personal hygiene independently, and keeps her room in order. She now draws, colors within the lines, cuts straight and curved lines with scissors, and writes numbers and letters with minimal support. Her receptive language skills are very good, and she speaks in simple sentences with an ever-increasing vocabulary. She enjoys singing and remembers the lyrics. Kit receives some assistance with schoolwork but completes academic tasks with enthusiasm. She takes pride in her accomplishments and enjoys receiving praise.
