- Case #79193
This is Alex! Alex finds joy in being on the go and exploring new adventure. You can see his eyes light up as he participates in new and exciting experiences. He is always eager to go on recreational and community outings with his family or other special people in his life. Alex has a love of the outdoors and likes to feel the sun and wind on his face. He is quite playful at times, especially when he is able to play with toys that make noises or music. Alex enjoys attending school with his peers and is making good developmental progress. He learns at a slower rate than other children his age. Alex has a tremendous personality that is growing brighter every day. Alex has a number of medical diagnoses. He is diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, which is a form of epilepsy. Alex also has diagnoses of Encephalopathy and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Alex uses a wheelchair daily, but he is capable of walking and loves to go on walks outside and explore. His wheelchair helps him with steadiness and when he gets fatigued. Alex will do well in a two-parent home where hearts are filled with compassion. The ideal family will be able to consistently meet his needs for the rest of his life. A family who is active and can give Alex many new experiences will be very beneficial. Alex needs a family who is equipped to care for his basic daily needs. Alex's family will be a strong advocate for his education and in his services to always make sure he is receiving the attention and care he needs, even when he is away from home. The ideal family will be full of love, joy, peace, and patience; have the ability to locate and work well with the resources available in their community, and will give Alex the commitment of a lifetime.
