De'Angelo is a very lovable teen who is open to being adopted and being part of a loving home. He is an expressive youth who does not mind showing when he feels accepted and loved by others. De?EUR(TM)Angelo is diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Although he is ambulatory, he wears leg braces to assist with walking and standing for short periods of time. He requires the use of a wheelchair for longer periods. De'Angelo likes walking outside and watching the cars drive up and down the street. He also loves to go out to eat. De?EUR(TM)Angelo learns at a slower rate than other children his age. He is an easy-going, sweet, and affectionate teen who behaves well overall. He benefits from redirection at times. De?EUR(TM)Angelo likes undivided attention and one-on-one time. He loves playing patty cake and clapping his hands to any nursery rhyme or song. He enjoys listening to music and anything that lights up, especially cell phones. Although De'Angelo is non-verbal, he loves for anyone to read a book to him out loud. He also likes to watch Sponge Bob cartoons.
De'Angelo requires 24 hour supervision. He is looking for a family that will be very attentive and loving towards him. His family will need to be engaging and willing to do outdoor activities with him, keeping his mobility issues in mind. De?EUR(TM)Angelo?EUR(TM)s family will also need to encourage him to do activities to increase his social and recreational settings. He will need to continue physical therapy as required. De?EUR(TM)Angelo will thrive in a structured environment where he feels safe and secure.
