Landon is a very sweet child. He loves to be held and responds to music and sounds. Landon is non-verbal and unable to walk due to being paralyzed. He utilizes a wheelchair to assist in transport. Landon is diagnosed with multiple medical conditions including Anoxic Brain Injury, Optic Nerve Atrophy on the left eye, Cortical Blindness in both eyes, and Epilepsy. He requires constant nursing care and receives 168 nursing hours per week. His needs are also met through caregivers. Landon is vent, oxygen, and trach dependent. He receives all nutrition and medications via a g-tube. Landon's educational needs are met through home school services provided by the local school district. Landon also responds to watching TV in the living room.
Landon's forever family will need to have some understanding that he will always need a family?EUR(TM)s help and supervision in meeting his day-to-day needs. His family will need some understanding of parenting a child with medical needs and developmental delays. Landon needs a family who is nurturing and understanding of his lifelong needs, but able to see the importance of encouraging him to reach his potential.
