- Case #80472
Viktoria is a beautiful and very active child. She has recently started to crawl and pull up; therefore she is becoming very mobile. She is very motivated when she wants to move. Viktoria is diagnosed with several medical conditions, including Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and Epilepsy. Although she has limited mobility, she requires 24 hour monitoring by nursing staff due to her level of activity. She depends on a ventilator and trach to breathe. Viktoria is non-verbal, but she has started to try using her voice, but only with caregivers and nurses. She is attached to caregivers and shy with strangers, but will slowly warm up over time. She will whisper certain words on command. It is unknown if Viktoria's vocal cords will develop appropriately, so she has been learning sign language. She has learned some of the referee signs for football and will sign while watching a football game with her caregivers. Viktoria is a very happy child. She loves listening to music, playing on her toy piano, and playing with many other toys.
Viktoria needs a loving and patient family. She will strongly benefit with parents who have medical training and if one parent is able to be at home full-time. Viktoria needs a family who will provide structure and routine to her daily activities. She is accustomed to attending church and behaves well in public places. Viktoria does not interact with other children much, due to her medical equipment; however she is more than ready to play and be a part of a great family. Viktoria needs a family who will be committed to her growth and development.
