Tori from Bulgaria
Tori was born in Feb 2005. She has been diagnosed with hyperkinetic behavior disorder, partial cryptogenic epilepsy (for which she is taking Depakine), and cognitive disabilities.
Tori is a sociable girl who willingly participates in group games where she often imitates the role of the teacher. She enjoys being the center of attention but also shows empathy for children’s feelings. She walks and runs with improved coordination and plays well with a ball, including rolling, throwing, and catching. She can arrange objects by color, can cut with scissors, loves drawing and scribbling, and shows a clear desire to write numbers. Tori can lead a simple conversation despite speech delay and pronunciation difficulties. She is able to answer simple questions after hearing a short story and repeats rhymes with correct intonation. Tori is a strong-willed, active girl who struggles with concentration and following the rules. Although typically calm, she exhibits self-aggression behaviors when frustrated. Tori has basic personal hygiene skills but requires some assistance from her caregivers. She enjoys listening to children’s songs and tries to sing along and dance to the music.
