Brynn from Bulgaria
Hopscotch Adoptions Inc.
- Case #Brynn
Brynn was born in May 2007. She has been diagnosed with generalized developmental disorder, childhood autism and moderate intellectual disabilities. Brynn lived in an orphanage for three years after birth and was then adopted domestically. That adoption was disrupted several years later; Brynn is currently living in another orphanage and is available for international adoption.
Brynn walks independently, imitates adults’ actions, manipulates and plays with toys purposefully, and can scribble with a pencil. She responds to her name and follows basic as well as more complex instructions. Brynn has expressive language delays but is able to vocalize some single words and short sentences. She is well-oriented in familiar surroundings and shows interest in her environment. Brynn seeks out interactions with adults and enjoys attention and physical affection. She has formed an attachment to a specific caregiver.
Brynn expresses a variety of emotions, including tantrums when frustrated, and recognizes the emotions of others. She is easily distracted and shows some restless, hyperactive behavior. Brynn’s eye contact is poor and while she prefers to play alone she will participate in role plays and active games with her peers. She enjoys going to school and is currently a 2nd grade student at an auxiliary school where she works with specialists to help improve her concentration and fine motor skills. Brynn is making continuous progress in the development of self-help skills and is now able to feed herself, drink from a cup, undress, and wash and dry her hands. She frequently announces her toileting needs. Brynn loves going on walks outside with adults and participating in activities involving music.
Sweet Brynn needs and deserves the love and acceptance of a committed forever family.
