Teona from European Union
eona was born in April 2018 at 30 weeks gestation weighing 1450 grams. After two and a half months at the hospital following her birth, she lived with a foster family until August 2019 and now resides at one of the biggest orphanages in her country. Teona has been diagnosed with infantile cerebral palsy (spastic quadriparesis), brain atrophy, and strabismus. Her development is delayed, but she is making slow forward progress. Teona can roll in both directions, sits with support, and grabs as well as manipulates objects with both hands. She pronounces sounds and syllable combinations and responds to the voices of others. She eats from a spoon and is calm during daily hygiene tasks and during sleep. Teona reacts positively to interactions with adults, laughs aloud when teased, and reaches up her hand to say hello. This sweet girl would benefit greatly from the love, support, and interventions a dedicated forever family could provide.
