Heidi from Pennsylvania
Heidi describes herself as silly, easygoing, and creative and those who know her best whole-heartedly agree. She's a morning person because she ?likes the start of a brand new day.? She likes to keep herself busy and enjoys a variety of activities. She's an avid reader and enjoys young adult literature and mystery books. One of her favorites is ?The Fault in Our Stars,? and she loves the movie, too. She likes to watch the movie before reading the book because it helps her get a visual as she reads. She also enjoys puzzles, board games, adult coloring books, and crafts. She also likes to go on walks, go to the park, and go hiking. While she is very capable of entertaining herself, she really likes to feel like she's part of a family and to be included in their activities. She's not picky about what the activities are, she'd even be happy just to run errands with you. Heidi is currently attending a vocational technical culinary program at her school and is considering going to culinary college when she graduates from high school. Her ultimate goal is to become a pastry chef. She has a hard time picking her favorite things to make, but she loves to make cake and cookies and decorate them. It is really important to Heidi that if she changes schools she would be able to continue her culinary education. She admits the way to her heart is food! Heidi would do best in a family with a single mom or two moms. She's open to having siblings, though she would prefer to be the older sister and she's also open being an only child. She's a self-described ?dog person,? but is also open to other pets. Heidi is a young woman who needs a family who gives her the time and space to build a connection with them before moving forward with permanency. Her team is looking for a family who has an outstanding or is a willing to learn about children on the autism spectrum. Heidi is not yet legally free for adoption; however, when a permanent resource is identified, the county will enact final steps to terminate parental rights.
