Alexander from Texas
This is Alex! Alex enjoys being on the go and exploring new places. You can see his eyes light up as he explores new and different experiences. He is always ready to travel and enjoys outings with his family or other special people in his life. Alex loves the outdoors and likes to feel the sun and wind on his face. He is entertaining at times, especially when he is able to play with toys or other objects that make noise or music. Alex enjoys attending school with his peers and is making noticeable progress. He does learn at a slower rate than other children his age. Alex has a tremendously fun personality that continues to grows brighter every day. Alex has experienced a number of medical diagnoses. He is diagnosed with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, which is a form of epilepsy. Alex also has diagnoses of Encephalopathy and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Alex uses a wheelchair daily, but he is capable of walking and loves to go on walks outside and explore. His wheelchair helps him with steadiness and when he gets fatigued. Alex will do well in a two-parent home where hearts are filled with compassion for others. The ideal family will be able to consistently meet his needs for the rest of his life. A family who is close, active, enjoys time together, and can give Alex many new experiences. This environment will be beneficial to his development. Alex needs a family who is prepared to care for his basic daily needs. Alex's family will be a strong advocate for his education and in his services to always ensure he is receiving the consideration and care he needs, even when he is away from home. The ideal family will be full of love, joy, peace, and patience. This amazing family will have the ability to locate and work well with the resources available in their community to provide Alex the commitment and love he is seeking.
