When we were engaged, we went to a friends house for dinner. When we went, we knew that Chris was going to ask the host to be a groomsman in our wedding. What we didn't know was that our friends had gotten a record player. After dinner, they put on a kids album and started dancing around the room with their little girl and the other kids at the house. After the kids went upstairs, they put on a Ray Charles record and every couple did a little slow dance.
After the party, Barbara decided that we needed a record player so that we could slow dance in the kitchen and play and dance with our child, just like we did at the party, and just like she did growing up. As a housewarming present to ourselves, we bought a setup and started collecting records.
We now have close to 400 records, and we still slow dance to Ray Charles. We've got some Disney records, just waiting for a child to sing and dance along with us!
