I was fortunate to grow up in a loving and supportive home. My parents recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary! My brother and I are very close in age and have a fun and encouraging relationship. He lives in Colorado, but we visit often, and he can't wait to be an Uncle! This picture was from one of our Christmas activities. I like to make my parents step out of their comfort zones sometimes, so I didn't tell them where we going, that way they didn't have a chance to say no. We went axe throwing and it was so much fun! The instructor guaranteed that everyone would hit the target at least once. My mom was having some trouble throwing it hard enough overhand, so he instructed her to try underhand. I will never forget the axe flying straight up in the air and my mom just covering her head and yelling out for my dad! He, of course, ran over to protect her. The axe landed far away and no one was hurt, so we all busted out laughing, and we continued with our fun! Pretty sure I'm not going to be able to convince them to do that again anytime soon, but we won't soon forget this one!
