" To Whom It May Concern: It is with pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Darres and Beth Nelson to become adoptive parents. I have personally known Darres and Beth for a number of years and they are simply wonderful people. I have been an elementary school teacher for 23 years. Beth and I work together in the Brookings School District and I consider her a close friend. I am truly honored to be asked to recommend them for adoption, I honestly cannot think of a better family to provide a loving home for a child. It is a challenge to put into writing how great this family is and what a loving home they would provide for a child. I have been out to their acreage many times and am always enlightened by their three boys and each individual personality. When you pull into their driveway you see this incredible tree house that their dad and grandpa has built for them which has provided them with hours of pretend play and entertainment. From picnic lunches to a movie being projected on a sheet at dusk, they are always doing something really cool in that tree house! With Beth being a teacher and home in the summer, they have the type of life every little child dreams of. From cooking in the kitchen together to heading out in the snow to go sledding, they are always doing something fun with their kids. Beth and Darres have provided such a wonderful home environment for these boys. Each one of their boys has their own unique personality and to see them outside being kids is heartwarming. As a teacher who works with children every day, this is so incredibly important for children. They are wonderful young boys and listening to them getting excited about their plans to run a farm or be a firefighter someday, I know that they will grow up to be wonderful adults like their parents. They are such great boys that would make incredible big brothers. There is no doubt in my mind that a baby would be surrounded by big brother love daily by each one of them. Who wouldn’t want three big brothers to love and protect them? They would make amazing big brothers! There is no such thing as perfect parents. However, I have to say Darres and Beth are one of the best that I have seen in a very long time. They both have chosen careers that although are different, they are similar in the fact that they care for others on a daily basis. With Darres being a fulltime firefighter, and Beth being a teacher they spend their days giving of themselves to help others. Their chosen careers are a true testament to the type of people they are. They are high school sweethearts, and when Darres isn’t out saving lives as a firefighter you will often see him standing outside Beth’s classroom door surprising her with lunch. They have an undeniable love and respect for each other and that is easy to see. They definitely place their family as their number one priority and they have surrounded their children with love, patience, and encouragement. I am ending this letter of recommendation in hopes that I have provided you with a brief snapshot of this wonderful family. Darres, Beth and their three boys have so much love to give and I know they pray each day for a baby to call their own. Sincerely, Mrs. Melissa Anderson "
