Celebrating a friend's wedding
We have always known that we wanted to adopt and we’re excited to welcome a child into our loving and accepting home.
Steve was born and raised on Long Island while Dan grew up 30 minutes north of New York City. We met in 2011 while both attending Hofstra University. Dan volunteered to act in a student film which Steve was asked to help produce. It was love at first sight! It didn’t take long for us to realize that we had found the person we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with. After Dan graduated in 2012, we maintained a long-distance relationship while Steve finished out the last year of college. Although the distance was challenging, we were dedicated to making it work. Not long after Steve graduated, we found a home and began building our life together. Steve completed his master’s degree in social work and is currently providing psychotherapy and support to children in the local school districts. Dan has made a fulfilling career at a nationwide nonprofit supporting patients with kidney disease. We have planned out our baby’s primary care for the early years. At the start, we will both be alternating our paid time off from work. Because Dan works remotely from home and Steve has the summers off, we will be able to devote plenty of time to nurturing our child. Both of our immediate families and close friends live nearby so we’ll have no shortage of support when needed. Starting a family has always been a dream of ours – one we’re happy to finally see come true. We have always known that we wanted to adopt and we’re excited to welcome a child into our loving and accepting home.
We believe that our home is a wonderful place to start a family and create a lifetime of memories.
We feel fortunate to live in a fun and diverse town, just 45 minutes north of New York City. Our community offers plenty of parks and trails for getting out into nature and taking family bike rides with our dog, Indiana. We’re also a quick train ride into New York City, where we love to visit museums, see shows, or just explore. Our favorite pastime is having close friends and family over for meals and game nights. We love to use our free time to the fullest and discovering new and unexpected adventures. In 2015, we moved in to our house and spent the next year building it into a warm and inviting place we’re proud to call home. We rescued our dog, Indiana, the same year. When the weather is good, she loves playing outdoors and going for hikes on the local trails. At night, she loves snuggling up on the couch with the both of us. She gets excited any time our friends bring their children over because she loves to make them laugh. We know she’ll make a great big sister! Steve works as a licensed social worker in the nearby school district. He loves helping his students through their concerns, whether it’s stress about school work or issues at home. Down the line, Steve would love to start his own private practice to help clients of all ages. Dan does digital marketing for a non-profit in New York City which helps provide resources for patients with kidney disease. He is passionate about helping serve as a lifeline for these patients and loves to hear each and every success story. Because he works remotely from home, he has had plenty of time to put together the nursery for the newest member of the family! We believe that our home is a wonderful place to start a family and create a lifetime of memories.
