We are Maki and Drew. We are so grateful you are opening your heart to the possibility of adoption. Sometimes the path of life takes unexpected turns and people need help and support from others. We are here to offer you that and so much more. We hope this letter will give you an idea of who we are and how much your child will be loved and cherished by us, our family, and friends. We wish you love and support through your journey, which we hope to be a part of. We honor and thank you for your bravery and strength, and are grateful our paths have crossed.

We live in Brooklyn, New York, and have been together for thirteen years and happily married for seven of them. We met in 2007 playing for the same softball team. We developed an immediate connection and have been inseparable since. We are loving, respectful, and considerate, and together we’ve tackled many challenges. We laugh a lot and try to grow from our experiences. We deeply value our relationships with family and friends in New York and across the country and globe. We enjoy spending time with friends and family, whether it is sharing a meal, playing games, or just hanging out. We are active and spend a lot of time outdoors at the park or the beach. We also ride bicycles, hike, and play tennis. Lots of our friends and family have young children now, so we enjoy spending time with them, feeding, reading to, and playing with all of the children. The parents love taking a break and we love the ”jobs” they give us! After witnessing family and friends experience the blessing of children, we are eager to build our family through adoption. We have plenty of room in our lives for our family to grow and endless amounts of love, support, and security to offer a child. We have the support from our family and friends who look forward to being there with us as we raise our child.
