How My Friends and Family Would Describe Me:
Generous, responsible, positive, joyful, funny, warm, curious, and kind.
I love food, laughter, conversation, biking, books, the outdoors, photography, and random acts of kindness.
I love children and have always dreamed about being a mother.
Being A Mom Has Always Been Important To Me
I am ready to make your child the center of my world emotionally and financially.
My Family Is Excited To Welcome Your Child:
I'll always make your child's holidays special and filled with family. I celebrate every Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Easter with my extended family. On Christmas, we exchange lots of presents (there are always bags and bags to collect all the wrapping paper!).
For Thanksgiving, if we meet upstate, we gather together for a feast that includes turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. If we meet in New York City, we have a clear view from my dad's windows of the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade!
On Easter, family members exchange Easter baskets and children go hunting for colored Easter eggs in the yard.
My Dad and his girlfriend Inge:
My dad and his girlfriend, Inge, have a beautiful love story. They met 55 years ago in Germany, where Inge lived and my dad was stationed as a military police officer. They stayed in touch through the years, and after Inge's husband died and my mom died, they reunited and have been dating for 7 years. Inge has a daughter and three grandchildren and is looking forward to more!
My dad is quite youthful and in good health. We are close and see each other once a week and talk on the phone several times a week. He is practical, thoughtful, has a good sense of humor, is playful with children, and is eager to help instantly.
Inge loves my dad very much, and they are very happy together. She loves babies and children and is enthusiastic about helping people. She cooks delicious food from scratch and goes out of her way to try to make everyone happy and provide what they need. She and my Dad will dote on your child.
Inge's daughter, son-in-law, and three grandchildren live in Switzerland about 15 minutes from Inge's home in Germany. They're very nice and warm, and Inge's grandchildren are the main reason she continues to go back and forth to Germany.
Being A Mom Has Always Been Important To Me:
I hope to be a mom like my mom, who sadly passed away ten years ago. She was a very successful publisher and literary agent who worked on some of the most famous authors. She was so supportive, encouraging and protective. She would drop everything if I needed her. When my guinea pig died and I called her at work, she promptly left an important business meeting to run home for the "family emergency." She cooked every night and we ate together as a family.
Encouraging of all my creative pursuits, she fought to get me into a wonderful progressive school that she knew would nurture my creativity. She paid for camp and art, writing, swimming, and horseback riding and was incredibly proud of me. She said that aside from my dad, I was the best thing that ever happened to her. My mom had a beaming smile, and I felt like she was singing Hallelujah when I walked in a room. I will make your child feel that way too.
Manhattan is a magical place to grow up with unlimited opportunities. I own my home, which is sunny and filled with books and plants, and has another bedroom just waiting for a child. My neighborhood is one of the best in New York City, very safe and in a wonderful school district.
In my neighborhood, there are many playgrounds, supermarkets (including Trader Joe's), restaurants, and parks. Nearby is a bicycle path along the Hudson River and a community pool where I swim in the summer with my friends and their kids. There are a lot of families in my neighborhood, and there is a large garden for everyone to share. Children draw with colored chalk on the step stones there, and families gather for food and playtime. My dad and his longtime girlfriend, Inge, live nearby and have a beautiful view of Central Park and the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.
Our Country Home:
We own a family country house less than a two hour drive away in peaceful Hudson Valley, where I spend lots of time outdoors swimming, biking, and hiking. I have been going to our summer home since I was a baby, and I learned to swim in a lake down the road. Recently, my mom's friend Mary Pat had a bonfire party for all of her friends and their kids and grandchildren. I still love making s'mores!
My Education and Career:
I have a Bachelors Degree and two Masters Degrees. My BA is in English and theatre, and I earned an MA in English Education while teaching English through the NYC Teaching Fellows program. Then I got an MFA in creative nonfiction and have since been teaching creative writing.
I have been a teacher for many years. I became a creative writing teacher because I love children, wanted to work with children, and I love creative writing. I am very lucky that I have the financial security that will allow me to dedicate myself to your child. I can be a stay-at-home mom and allow your child to attend an excellent school, college, and graduate school.
I like to give back by teaching and volunteering. I write and spend a few hours a week teaching creative writing and volunteering in a women's jail, an elementary school, and a senior citizen center. My students find writing therapeutic and freeing, and I love hearing their ideas and helping them develop their work.
I have the resources to put all this aside and be a full-time mom. I also have the resources to send your child to great schools where he or she can flourish. My school nurtured my creativity and had small class sizes with an emphasis on the arts, critical thinking skills, lots of individualized attention from caring and highly trained teachers, and a great track record for sending students to top colleges.

My Friends: Adults & Kids
My friends are extremely important to me, and I see them often. Usually, I do something social every day--whether it's getting dinner or cooking together, or going for a walk or bike ride in the park. Many of my friends have children, and all are excited for me to adopt!
I’m affectionately known to my friends’ children as “Auntie Fizzy” (Fizzy was a high school nickname that came from Lizzy). I take such joy in spending quality time with them, playing with Legos, swimming with them in the pool, camping, hiking, bicycling and canoeing with them, and of course playing in every playground within walking distance!
Friends Brianna, Elliot, and Josephine:
My friend Brianna and her husband Elliot and their daughter Josephine are like family to me. Brianna and I have been close friends for 14 years, ever since we met through a hiking group. Four years ago, she gave birth to her daughter, and I was honored to be in the delivery room during her labor. I got to meet Josephine when she was just born, and I have seen her grow from an infant to a bright, curious child.
Friends Tracey, Chad, and Amelia:
Tracey and Chad and their daughter Amelia have been a big part of my life for the past 12 years. We regularly get together with our friends Brianna and Elliot and Andrea and Jason and their daughters.
Friends Jason, Andrea, and Teresa:
My friends Jason and Andrea and their daughter Teresa are also like family. I met Jason and Andrea in a hiking group, and I have seen their daughter Teresa grow up into a spritely six-year-old.
Friends Jon, Nicole, and Cyril:
Jon and Nicole are close friends of 20 years who have a sweet son named Cyril.
Friends Ellen, Daniel, and Maxwell:
My childhood friend Ellen and her husband Daniel have a beautiful baby boy named Maxwell. I see them often.
My Pets Charlie and Jameson:
I have two cats named Charlie (orange) and Jameson (gray) who are very gentle and sweet with visitors big and small. My friends' children are delighted by them, and I am so excited for them to be your child's playmates!
The day I brought Jameson home, he jumped up on the sofa with me, stretched out over my stomach, and fell asleep! So we bonded right away. He always trots to the door and greets me when I come home.
Charlie and Jameson were friendly with each other almost right away. I am told that this kind of relationship between two unrelated cats is very rare, so I feel extremely lucky. They snuggle with each other and with me every day.
