I live in a quaint and comfortable duplex with Jason, in a diverse neighborhood with lots of other young families. There is more than enough space to accommodate a child and the perfect backyard for them to play. We share our home with my 9-year old indoor cat named LuLu.
Let's just say, there's always something to do around here!
She is very spunky and truly spoiled. You can often see her perched by our big picture windows watching birds, lizards, and squirrels that wonder into our yard.
I believe all families do best when they are part of a loving and supportive community. I have lived in Florida for over 12 years now and feel as if my friends are my second family. My community is very family-oriented. It is close to two, highly-rated elementary schools and a new community recreation center just around the corner. The community hosts parades, food festivals, concerts and art festivals often during tourist season. They even do a snow festival every year in which they blow ice into the air and let it rain down like snow for the kids to play in!
My boyfriend Jason is genuine, reliable, caring, and a big kid at heart. He loves theme parks, rock concerts, and movies. I always have a good time when I’m around him. He works in a local foster shelter and is a great role model for the kids he cares for. Everyone who meets him says how much they like him. I know that a child would love him just as much as I do!
I’m very involved in my church and taught Sunday School for years. I’ve done childcare during big church events and love to help out at the kids’ events. My Bible Study has been with me since the beginning and are always asking for news.
I am part of a public speaking group and a lot of my friends come from here. Some are parents, some are grandparents and some are even on the same path that I’m on now with adoption. Friends from this group have been instrumental in my adoption journey so far and can’t wait to meet the child.
On the weekends, I love to take a stroll with Jason through one of the beautiful nearby parks or check out the newest exhibit at the local museum. There is also a botanical garden just down the road and a zoo and a wildlife rehab center nearby as well. Let's just say, there's always something to do around here!
