We had a big snow storm last week. We love the snow. I know some might think that is weird but the white stuff just brings us both joy. Maybe it is the memories of all those snow days from our childhood. Perhaps it is the promise of winter sports like snowshoeing and skiing. We tested our new snowshoes in the woods behind the house and they worked great. Alas it is probably going to melt this week.

Beautiful sunset as summer comes to an end.
Battling PestsAug 20, 2020
The joys of a garden are wonderful and delicious but the lows can be hard. The squirrels ravaged my tomato crop this year before they even turned green. This is a common problem in the neighborhood but it's still sad to nurture plants from seed and get no crop. Also caterpillars went to town on the kale. I was able to get most of it picked but they were hungry, hungry guys. The zucchini plants got some kind of steam borer, which means they just died. These are the emotional lessons of gardening, you have to keep fighting for what you want and watch out for dangers along the way. Good thing there is always next season...on to fall planting.
Green TomatoesJul 14, 2020

Sugar Snap Peas!Jun 18, 2020
After what seems like forever are harvesting our peas. The peas have just started to come in and they are sweet and delicious. The kale is also ready and we have had a few salads already. This garden has been so inspiring for us. This period of time in terms of in our adoption journey and life in general during the pandemic and this period of social unrest has been difficult. There are so many unknowns and waiting can be painful. But the garden just keeps growing giving us hope.

Social DistancingMar 21, 2020
Morgan is using the home time from Covid 19 crisis to get ahead of garden projects. We built a new raised bed planter. Hopefully we can grow some veggies this summer. Morgan grew up gardening and can't wait to share her love of growing and getting her hands dirty with a child.
