We were married in 2009 and in 2012 we began trying to grow our family. We sought medical advice when we did not get pregnant on our own. We had all the tests run and nothing showed any medical concern.
“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” Song of Solomon 6:3
On paper, we have undiagnosed infertility; which basically means, we have a problem, they just don't know what it is. We spent a lot of time in prayer over what our next step would be. It would have been so easy to throw money at the problem and seek medical intervention, but we knew God was not in that plan. When we finally stopped and heard God, we turned and focused our eyes back on adoption, which we had talked about before we even married. We cannot describe the peace we have experienced along this journey. While waiting to be chosen for our first child was difficult, we had no doubts that God was with us and that was the exact path we were supposed to be on. Bringing Caleb home in 2016 was the best day of our lives and he has been such a joy to our family. We are ready to grow our family again and Caleb has asked to be a brother. He prays for "his baby" every night and asks when they will be here. He has to go check out the nursery a few times a week just to make sure that it is still ready for them. Caleb is the sweetest little boy. He is just full of joy and loves to make people laugh. He is also stubborn, independent, opinionated, curious, silly and active. He loves to be outside regardless of what we are doing. He loves books, puzzles, music, firetrucks, Daniel Tiger and Paw Patrol.
He loves to use "tools" and "help" us with whatever DIY project we are working on.
He is excited about being a big brother and having a baby in the house. We call him our social butterfly because he loves being around people of all ages. In his opinion, the more the merrier.
We live within 30 minutes of all the grandparents, most of the aunts and uncles and 5 (soon to be 6) cousins, which means there is always a family event on the calendar. Caleb loves growing up with so much family around and absolutely adores his cousins, especially the oldest Matthew!
Waiting as a family is tough, but we are excited to be on this journey once again. Hopefully we will have the chance to walk with you on the path for our child, but if not, we want to thank you for hearing our story and please know that we are praying for you and your story.
