Our story unexpectantly began in the summer of 2005 and we have been best friends ever since.

Our story unexpectantly began in the summer of 2005 and we have been best friends ever since.

Our Story

We were married in 2009 and in 2012 we began trying to grow our family. We sought medical advice when we did not get pregnant on our own. We had all the tests run and nothing showed any medical concern.

“I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine” Song of Solomon 6:3

On paper, we have undiagnosed infertility; which basically means, we have a problem, they just don't know what it is. We spent a lot of time in prayer over what our next step would be. It would have been so easy to throw money at the problem and seek medical intervention, but we knew God was not in that plan. When we finally stopped and heard God, we turned and focused our eyes back on adoption, which we had talked about before we even married. We cannot describe the peace we have experienced along this journey. While waiting to be chosen for our first child was difficult, we had no doubts that God was with us and that was the exact path we were supposed to be on. Bringing Caleb home in 2016 was the best day of our lives and he has been such a joy to our family. We are ready to grow our family again and Caleb has asked to be a brother. He prays for "his baby" every night and asks when they will be here. He has to go check out the nursery a few times a week just to make sure that it is still ready for them. Caleb is the sweetest little boy. He is just full of joy and loves to make people laugh. He is also stubborn, independent, opinionated, curious, silly and active. He loves to be outside regardless of what we are doing. He loves books, puzzles, music, firetrucks, Daniel Tiger and Paw Patrol.

He loves to use "tools" and "help" us with whatever DIY project we are working on.

He is excited about being a big brother and having a baby in the house. We call him our social butterfly because he loves being around people of all ages. In his opinion, the more the merrier.

We live within 30 minutes of all the grandparents, most of the aunts and uncles and 5 (soon to be 6) cousins, which means there is always a family event on the calendar. Caleb loves growing up with so much family around and absolutely adores his cousins, especially the oldest Matthew!

Waiting as a family is tough, but we are excited to be on this journey once again. Hopefully we will have the chance to walk with you on the path for our child, but if not, we want to thank you for hearing our story and please know that we are praying for you and your story.
I know it is cliché to say we are each other's best friend, but we are, and we have been for over a decade. We are the best DIY partners, travel companions and partners in this crazy journey. We are each other's best part. Here is why.

A Little More About Each Of Us From The Other One Who Knows Us Best.

About Brian From Kelly
Brian is my rock, he is always calm and can put everything back into perspective. He has a unique humor that comes out of nowhere and completely changes the mood of the situation. He always finishes what he starts and strives toward self-improvement and growth. I never have to worry that he will do all he can to take care of me and our family. He seeks God's will in everything he and we do. He and I have the perfect match of personalities to balance each other's strengths and weaknesses. He is my favorite travel companion and DIY partner. I can't imagine life without him.

Brian is an incredible father. He and Caleb absolutely adore each other. His patient and gentle spirit allows him to see every situation objectively. He loves to show Caleb how to do new things and pushes him to grow, learn and have fun!

About Kelly From Brian:

Kelly always has a plan whether it's a DIY project or a great vacation. She encourages me to pursue my dreams for myself and our family while providing a seemingly endless amount of love and support. Just when I think we have set the goal as high as we can, she finds a way to set it higher. Seeing Kelly playing with Caleb or taking care of him fills my heart with such joy. Kelly is so loving towards him and he absolutely loves her.

Our Life Together

There is so much we could tell you, but we will try to keep it to the highlights.

We live in a small, quiet neighborhood in a suburb of Atlanta. We love the community we live in, we have a big neighborhood with families of all ages. Our neighborhood has a pool, lake for fishing, tennis courts and a playground. We live convenient to everything: grocery stores, shopping, restaurants, schools, and Caleb's favorite, a local firehouse.

We have two main past times: Doing DIY projects and traveling

DIY - we aren't afraid to try new things. We just search for a how-to video and get started. We get that from our grandfathers. We have done anything from re-landscaping our yard, replacing our front porch, and floor and wall tile, bead board in the nursery, to finishing our basement. We love the challenge of learning something new together. Caleb definitely has the DIY gene. He loves tools and to have the opportunity to "help". At this point he is better at demo than actual building, but he has fun doing whatever he can. His favorite Saturdays are the ones when Home Depot has the kids workshops and he gets to use the "big hammer".

Traveling - We love to see new places, we get that from our parents. We have had the pleasure of seeing both coasts: from San Diego, Oregon, Alaska and British Columbia to Maine and Nova Scotia down to the quiet mountains of Tennessee and the beautiful beaches of Florida and most recently, the heart of Ethiopia where we served alongside a non-profit that we sit on the board with. We can't wait to see the rest of the country and the World with our children.

Our family from Kelly: I have fantastic parents who all live locally. My paternal grandparents also live locally and my maternal Grandma lives in Tennessee. They have always been active supporters in everything I have aspired to do. I have 7 siblings, 2 nephews , 2 nieces and 1 more nephew on the way! We are a loud family who love to laugh!

Our family from Brian: My immediate family consists of my parents and my brother. I have one aunt on my dad's side and two aunts and uncles on my mom's side. We have always been close to our extended family as well. I have 11 cousins and they have 16 children among them. Family gatherings are never boring!

Our Church Family: We have grown up in church. We both gave our hearts and lives to Christ at very young ages. It is our faith that keeps us grounded and gives us joy in the good times and hope in the hard times. We belong to a fantastic Sunday school class of young couples with children. We love as family. We have 19 active couples with 34 children between them! We are so grateful for their friendship and constant support.

The boys: After the loss of our 17 year old cat Hunter, Dapper and Oliver found their way into our home and hearts and have brought both challenges and joy. Dapper is our tuxedo cat. He was born on January 15, 2015 and we adopted him in March. We call him our old soul cat. He grew to his present 11 lbs really fast and is a very gentle and quiet cat. He has a deep purr and will wait his turn for cuddles. Oliver is our energetic one. He was born on April 4, 2015 and we adopted him July 5th. He is half the size of Dapper with twice the energy. You can hear his purr in another room of the house and he cannot wait for someone to sit and make a lap. They weren't too sure of each other at first, but quickly bonded over the traumatic experience of their first bath! Now they absolutely love each other, you would think they were from the same litter. You will find them either wrestling or snuggling in any room of the house.
