Hello from the Pace Family
We wish you the best on your journey, whatever it may be!
Thank you for checking us out! We admire your courage to look into adoption, and we wish you the best on your journey, whatever it may be! We have been so blessed by the adoption of our son, his amazing birth mother, and our relationship with her. We look forward to future miracles to join our family, and we know that there is a plan for each of us, so whatever your path looks like, we wish you the best.
Stories, books, cuddle time, we love it all.
Matt, Joanna, and our 2-year-old miracle.
We have been married for 8 years, and have been so grateful to have each other as support through life’s challenges and also the best of times.
Short version: Musician dad, Teacher mom, and toddler are loving life and are so grateful for adoption! Matt is a musician and stay-at-home dad extraordinaire! Joanna grew up all over in a military family, teaches 2nd grade, and loves being a wife to Matt and a mom to our cute son. We have been married for 8 years, and have been so grateful to have each other as support through life’s challenges and also the best of times. We love music, walks, games, family, good books, outdoors, time together, hot cocoa and movie nights, and the occasional travel experience when we get the chance! Matt (as seen by Joanna): Besides being an incredible father and husband, Matt is such a kind person. He is easy-going and fun to be around. He is so patient and attentive with our busy toddler and you can see when they are together how much he loves being a dad. I can count on Matt in the best of times and in the most difficult; he is my favorite human. Joanna (as seen by Matt): Joanna is an intelligent, kind, and very sassy wife and mother. She is amazing with children of all ages, (her 2nd graders adore her, as does our 2-year-old), and she has so much passion for bettering the world around her. She is a great communicator and a wonderful person. I love her.
Just an average after church selfie, Matt is 6' 4" and has much longer arms, so he is a selfie master.
Navigating Life Together
We figure if we try to be the best examples of respect and love for others, our child will do the same and treat others with kindness.
Growing Closer Through Challenges Joanna had some health emergencies earlier in our marriage. Matt supported and helped her through two surgeries and was an incredible temporary caretaker. We are both so grateful for each other, for good friends, good doctors and medicine, and for great health ever since! (Hopefully) Good People We feel like everyone has some sort of a moral code, or way of teaching their family what is OK and what is not. For us, that is trying to be like Jesus and treating others right. We love God and feel that moral values are important for our family to stay close and to help navigate life’s twists and turns. "Kind people are our kind of people." We figure if we try to be the best examples of respect and love for others, our child(ren) will do the same and treat others with kindness.

Happy and Hopeful
We love our little family and are so happy that adoption made us parents.
Adoption & Birth Family We adopted our son a few years ago, and we are so grateful to have an awesome, supportive relationship with his birth family! We feel that the more love and the more information our kids have, the better it will be for them. We want them to know that adoption is awesome and something to be proud of!! (Rather than something that should be kept a secret). We love including our son’s birth family in various life events and keeping in good communication with them. We love our little family and are so happy that adoption made us parents. Growing Family We both grew up in big families, (Matt has 5 siblings, Joanna has 6), and we have seen the beauty and growth that comes from having siblings. We would love to grow our family again!
