We love the summer because it means trips, visits with friends, family time, and a little slower pace! We can’t wait to see what kinds of adventures we have this summer!

CelebrationsMay 24, 2021
We’ve had quite a bit of celebrating lately! Graduations, birthdays, and anniversaries! It’s that time of year. We are excited for summer and the chance to spend time with family and friends!
Family timeMar 19, 2021
It has been long overdue, but we finally got some family time, which included getting to meet our newest little nephew! It’s always fun to get to see the littles! This visit was filled with cookie making, painting, reading books, playing Uno, and watching movies. We have 2 nephews and a niece who love to fill our visits with fun!
Goodbye 2020...Hello 2021Jan 03, 2021
2020 was full of things that were out of our control completely. It was a year full of challenges, but after really thinking about them, some turned into beautiful opportunities. We were able to spend more time to together. We learned that we aren’t dog groomers, but that we were willing to try out something new! (Poor dog had to walk around the neighborhood with a messed up cut until the groomers reopened!). We learned that we liked to find new recipes to try out...some worked and some definitely turned into frozen pizza nights! We found that sometimes difficult decisions don’t make sense at the time, but really do turn out to something greater in the end. Our new home was something that came out of one of those times! What an adventure that has been! The shattered ornament was a bit fitting for the end of 2020. Sometimes things just get messy and throw you a curveball! It’s all about how we respond to that messiness! (In this case, nothing a little music and a vacuum couldn’t fix!)
They say a new year is 12 new chapters and 365 chances. We know that your 2021 will have some big decisions in it. Thank you for taking the time to get to know a little bit about us. We hope we can be part of a new chapter and that something about us will move you to be part of our story and us a part of yours in 2021! Happy New Year!
HomeDec 23, 2020
There is something about Christmas lights that just makes home even more cozy. We have so many traditions this time of year. You will find us sitting with just the Christmas lights on watching funny movies. Christmas Vacation, Elf, and Home Alone are some frequent watches these days. There’s usually some crafting happening, like making shirts, painting, or decorating cookies! We also love hanging up Christmas cards and seeing the faces of family and friends all over our wall. While this year looks much different in some ways, it still has the magic of Christmas.
Working in education, this has been a whirlwind year, but having time off at the holidays is a gift to recharge, be with family, and make the time special for everyone around us. While we won’t be with everyone this year, we will find ways to keep it special!
‘Tis the seasonDec 16, 2020
We’ve been decorating for Christmas and filling our house with new memories! Christmas cookies have been baked, iced, and even munched on! We’ve sent out cards, wrapped gifts, and enjoyed quiet mornings with the lights lit up. We even had fun by planting an inflatable decoration on our neighbors front yard and watching the two little ones light up with excitement to have their own yard decorations! We also had some fake snowballs to have a snowball fight with them. Even though it’s way too warm to have snow here right now, we find ways to still have fun with the idea of snow! In the midst of a challenging year, there’s still hope and joy to spread! We’re looking forward to the newness of a fresh start and all the hope 2021 brings!
Breath of fresh air...Oct 12, 2020
The weather is starting to cool off, and that means getting outside and getting in some long walks. Today even brought about some open windows and fresh baked cookies. We've settled into our new place and have met so many wonderful neighbors. This neighborhood is definitely family friendly as kids are outside playing often. We've got pumpkin decorations out and look forward to this change of seasons. We are pretty laid back and enjoy sitting out on the swing in the backyard chatting about the day while dinner is cooking on the smoker.
Looking forward to the day we are able to welcome a sweet little one to our world. We've got so much love and hope for their future!
New Spaces!Sep 10, 2020
We decided that having a nice big backyard to play in with our dog, as well as a sweet little one in the future was important to us, so we are now settling into our new home! We can't wait to share this space with a little one. We have a room ready for him/her, just needs to be decorated! It's only been a short time in this new space, but it already feels like home.
What we are up to...Jun 26, 2020
We learned quickly that we are not cut out to be dog groomers, but we gave it our best shot! Not sure what our dog thought about it, but it was something new for us! We've tried out a lot of things we haven't before in the past 3 months. New recipes, new games, building shelves for our home, neighborhood walks, and a lot of together time have been keeping us busy.
Summer always brings fun with our niece and nephew. Tie dying shirts, building forts, swinging, slip and slides, and playing basketball were some of the highlights this year!
We are waiting with open hearts to be placed with a child. We have so many more adventures ahead and want to share that as a family!
Friends & FamilyJan 24, 2020
We are so lucky to be surrounded by so many friends and family that embrace adoption and can't wait to have a little one running around. Most of our friends already have children, so our child will have a large amount of friends to play with when we have get-togethers. Our family is so excited to welcome a new little one. We both come from big extended families. Both sides of our family have been touched by adoption. We know that this little one will not only steal our hearts, but also steal the hearts of our loved ones.
