We are excited to welcome you to our family and into our home where we believe that love is not limited but multiplies with every addition. Our small, but adorable family is filled with laughs and love each day from, Chase (Dad), kindness and caring from, Shelly (Mom) and energy and adventure from Brooks, our son. Every day we strive to find balance between working hard to reach our full potential and laughing together over life’s simple joys.
On the weekends we like to spend time outdoors running, walking, or working on projects around the house. We are so grateful you have taken the time to look at our profile and learn more about our family.
Chase and Shelly were married on August 6, 2009. We moved around a lot at the beginning trying out new places (Washington DC, Idaho, North Carolina, and Canada) finally landing in Midlothian, Virginia. We have now lived here for 6 years and love everything about it.The summers are super-hot and humid, but we combat that by spending lots of time near water floating in the neighborhood pool, taking weekend beach trips to our favorite spot, Wilmington, NC, or wake boarding behind the boat. Winters are prefect. We quickly became acclimated to the warm temperatures in Virginia and now consider anything below 40 degrees freezing! We get only 2 or 3 good snowstorms a year that end up shutting down the city. These days are magical, we all stay home, play in the snow, spend time together and either sit by a fire reading a book or drinking hot chocolate.
About 6 or so years into our marriage we decided it was time to start thinking about starting our family. Shelly has been diagnosed with PCOS so we knew that getting pregnant was going to be a little more challenging for us then for some other families. After two years of working with our fertility doctors we welcomed a miracle into our family. Brooks was born just 3 days before Christmas a healthy baby boy. He is a fun and rambunctious little dude.
Even back while Chase and Shelly were dating, they knew that someday they wanted to adopt children. After having Brooks we knew that we wanted our family to continue to grow but this time through adoption. This is a new but very exciting journey for our family and we can not wait to have you join us in it.
Chase, Shelly, and Brooks
Shelly grew up in the small town of Pickerington, Ohio. She graduated from Brigham Young University—Idaho in 2009 with a Bachelors in Health Science. After graduation she went on to discover her passion for health and fitness. She was able to turn this into a full time job as the director of a Corporate Fitness Center. She loved being able to spend her time helping others realize and achieve their very own potential. She recently stepped away from Corporate America to be a full time mom to Brooks. She has loved spending her days playing with as well as teaching Brooks. While some days can be exhausting she would not change it for the world. When she isn’t home with Brooks Shelly loves to run. She has run marathons and ultra-marathons including two 50 mile races.

Chase is one of the most hard-working people I have ever met. He dreams big and works diligently to make those dreams come true. These dreams have provided us the chance to many live new places and meet great friends along our journey. Most of all Chase loves being a dad. When he isn’t at work, he is home spending as much time as possible with Brooks. He has loved getting to share his hobbies with him, already teaching him how to work on cars, build furniture, fish, or tinker around with any other project he might have. He is currently working to restore an old 1989 Range Rover. You can generally find the two of them in the garage together having a great time

Brooks was born on December 22, 2017, just in time for Christmas. Brooks is a super sweet and fun to be around. He easily brightens the day of anyone he meets. He loves to play outside especially in any mud puddle he can find. Brooks adores other kids especially his cousins. He has a soft spot in his little heart for his littlest cousin who is 6 months old. He is already always trying to be helpful by giving her, her pacifier or trying to pat her when she cries. We can tell already he is going to be such an amazing and very protective older brother.
