We are Josh, Katie, Chloe & Oliver
We are the Westovers!
We can't comprehend what it is like to be in your shoes right now but we have so much respect for you.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know who we are. We can't comprehend what it is like to be in your shoes right now but we have so much respect for you. Regardless of what you decide to do or whether you decide to contact us or not, know that we think you are amazing and are praying that you will have the guidance to do whatever is best for you and your little one(s). If you choose to get to know us better as part of your exploration to adopt, we want you to be assured that we have no expectations and know things work out as they should. We are just excited to get to know you! A few things you should know about us: 1. We LOVE adoption! We love our current and future birth-families with all our hearts! 2. We will honor our commitments to our birth-parents. 3. We will provide all the loving care we can to the little one(s) who come into our home through adoption.
We are committed to our marriage and are fiercely loyal to each other.
Just a little about us
We would love to have our children grow up together finding that the best friend/s you will ever have is your brother/sister(s).
We were only acquaintances for 5 years before the stars finally aligned, and we went on our first date. Getting to that 1st date was nothing short of a miracle! We first met through a friend of Josh’s who was interested in dating Katie. Josh was the “wing man” on that first encounter. After that Katie dated another of Josh’s friend over that 5 year span. One day, Josh randomly ran into Katie and finally determined to make his move. On the first date we both knew there was something special we had been missing out on. We are both grateful that our relationship took a romantic turn and have been inseparable ever since. We have been married for 9 years and are learning that love grows stronger by the day. We are committed to our marriage and are fiercely loyal to each other. In March of 2015 we experienced the joy and love of adoption. We adopted a sweet baby girl and rejoiced in the addition of not only Chloe but her loving birth family. Then in 2016 we adopted Oliver after feeling a tug on our hearts that there was a little boy waiting to join our family. Chloe and Oliver's adoptions are open and we communicate with their birth families often. We have a special place in our hearts for them and think of their love and sacrifice daily. Now as we move forward with our family, we want nothing more than to expand our little troop. We would love to have our children grow up together finding that the best friend/s you will ever have is your brother/sister(s). We live in beautiful Idaho and love spending time together doing anything outside, traveling, hanging out with family and friends, watching movies, taking walks, learning and discovering new hobbies and just talking together. One of our favorite things to do together is to explore God's beautiful creations through a hike. We go whenever we can and have had a lot of great talks while taking pictures and soaking up the beautiful surroundings. We also love just taking walks around our neighborhood. We have also been able to explore outside of Idaho and even out of the United States. One of our favorite trips has been to Costa Rica where we both found that just lounging on the beach, while nice, is not the only thing we like to do in a tropical paradise. We wanted adventure and found it repelling down waterfalls, hiking, surfing, trying new foods and exploring local villages. We like being active. We also love just vegging out with pizza and a movie and lots of cuddling. Handing out in the park, reading a good book or just going for a drive up the canyon are on our list of relaxing hobbies to do together. Whatever we do, we just like being together.
Josh adores our children and they can’t get enough of him
A little about Josh...by Katie
Josh is a unique blend of fun and spontaneous plus reliable and steady
Josh is a man of many traits. He is open minded and loves life in all its varieties. He enjoys working hard and getting his hands dirty (something he learned as a child). He loves the outdoors, adventure and anything active. He loves people of all kinds and is always searching for someone new to meet and help. He loves music and is able to play the piano by ear! He also plays the guitar and sings (which comes in handy when it comes serenading the kids to sleep). Josh’s professional passion has been building technology companies and financial planning. He loves what he does, and has a talent for taking new companies to market and helping others find financial security. Josh grew up in a family of 12 children. He is the middle child and growing up had a lot of chances to play babysitter for his younger siblings. He is amazing with children. Josh is always there holding or playing with and winning over the hearts of all the children around him. He is such an amazing father to Chloe and Oliver. He adores them and they can't get enough of him. I also love that Josh feels so comfortable around babies. He is always willing to take shifts even in the middle of the night to help with the newborn phase. A tradition he has started with our kids is to have weekly daddy-daughter and daddy-son dates. It makes me so happy so see their loving relationship.
Katie is so in love with Chloe and Oliver and being mommy
A little about Katie...by Josh
Katie is gentle and compassionate and has a passion for structure and growth
Katie grew up in a small town with a love for the outdoors. Growing up she spent a lot of time outside with her dad. They went camping, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, hunting, four wheeling and snow machining. She also loves reading, sewing, drawing, baking, gardening, canning and she loves animals (especially little baby animals). Katie knew that she had a strong love for children but it was not until high school during a cross aid class working with 2nd graders that she fully realized this passion. After that, there was never any doubt as to what she wanted to become when she “grew up”…. A teacher! Teaching 1st Grade was such a blessing for Katie and she taught for 10 years before becoming a mom. One year, Katie had 50 students between her two classes, so she has not only seen a wide range of personalities but learned to love kids in all of their varieties and feels she has developed a talent to work with each one and help them feel loved and successful! Through all these years of teaching, Katie has been looking forward to the time that she would have her own little child(ren) to love and teach. When we adopted Chloe, motherhood hit Katie like a wave. We only had 2 weeks notice and in that time prepared for a potential baby. It all happened so fast and was so unexpected but when Katie held Chloe for the first time, she felt her heart change. She is so in love with Chloe and Oliver and being mommy. She is home full time now and looks forward to each day as she takes care of, plays and teachers her kids. Katie is so excited to have more children and grow our family. She is such an amazing mother! Thank you! We are so grateful for you and for this opportunity you have given us to share our family with you. We know from first hand experience the love that can come from adoption. We are so grateful for the love it has brought to our lives and hope you find that love through your journey :) Love, Katie & Josh, Chloe & Oliver Westover See more about our family on our Facebook page: Help Us Adopt - The Westover's Open Adoption Page Video Links: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7w-DuDn8Ok https://youtu.be/W9gub-RNXcs https://youtu.be/ukJyTZPxh8Y https://youtu.be/ZDbsqvdxfGc https://youtu.be/zgqUECRykN0
