EVERYTHING is blooming in Oregon and it's beautiful! Family walks are a 2x/day occurrence so seeing some new scenery is exciting. Plus it's been a while since we've had a family picture so this seemed like a good excuse :-)

Happy Valentine's DayFeb 19, 2021
We are currently snowed in so no big plans for us! Growing up, my dad always used to get the heart shaped pizza from Pizza Hut and get an individual bouquet of flowers for me, my mom and my sister. To this day he still does that!
Snow storm!Feb 13, 2021
It never snows here.. so when it does, we get outside and enjoy it! Jola LOVES the snow.
Pat's BirthdayJan 25, 2021
The only thing Pat requested for his birthday was a "heavy chocolate" cake.
So glad we have friends that helped us celebrate... it was a LOT of cake!
Winter in OregonJan 15, 2021
It doesn't actually snow where we live, but this winter wonderland is only 90 minutes away!
(This is actually our friend Eric, not Pat, in the picture with me). I went hiking with friends and Pat had a delicious and hot meal waiting when we got back. It was a pretty perfect day!
Happy New YearJan 03, 2021
We rang in the New year in true pandemic fashion... ordered pizza, watched a movie, read books and in bed by 10:30. I guess we celebrated with the east coast!
Holiday TraditionsFeb 13, 2021
Every year for Christmas we get matching flannel shirts (from Pat's mom!) and we make home made cinnamon rolls. In addition, we get each other a new ornament and add ornaments from our travels from the year. Looking forward to new traditions in the future!
Happy Holidays!Dec 21, 2020
Wishing you and yours a safe and happy holidays!
(A picture from 2018 Liz and Pat... let's be honest, there's no need to get that dressed up in 2020!)
First snow of the seasonNov 16, 2020
We took a trip this weekend to Sunriver, Oregon and it snowed 9 inches! Jola LOVES playing in the snow and we got to hang out with some of our closest friends and their 15 month old baby. Such a great weekend getaway!
Quarantine Project!Oct 14, 2020
I needed a big project and after months of quarantine I also just wanted to update the space I was spending a LOT of time in... so I decided to paint the house by myself! Took about 2 weeks but I'm so happy with how it turned out. Next up is the yard :-)
How's our dog with kids?Oct 08, 2020
I'd say she's pretty good! She's very patient, doesn't mind kids sitting on her (clearly!), pulling her tail or stepping on her feet... she's sooooo good with kids! This is one of our friends kids who was meeting Jola for the first time!
A very muddy hikeOct 07, 2020
We definitely timed this hike wrong... it happened to pour the entire time we were driving to the trailhead... but by the time we got there we thought "whatever, we're already here!" So we hiked, and got rained but we had fun and Jola loves hiking regardless! This was a short 5 mile hike that is just 10 miles from our house!
Celebrating 5 yearsSep 13, 2020
For our 5 year anniversary, we went back to the place we got married, a winery / vineyard here in Oregon.
The first 5 years of our marriage involved lots of traveling and lots of moving... we are currently on our 3rd house in 5 years. Luckily, we love our neighborhood and the friends we've made here and don't see us moving anytime soon! Can't wait to see what the next 5 years bring!
(And in case you're wondering... Pat is a Cowboys fan and I'm a Packers fan!)
Too cute not to shareSep 08, 2020
I mean... look how adorable that is!
Summer tripsAug 20, 2020
Unfortunately all plans for the summer were shot after Covid... but we did get the opportunity to go visit my parents in Wisconsin for a few days. Pat, my dad, and my brother-in-law played golf every single day... my golf stamina is about 9 holes a few times a summer. When I was a kid my parents put me in 4-holers golf lessons... the only thing I remember was catching frogs and driving with a putter!
Fun Fact #7Jul 13, 2020
While Pat cooks most of our meals, we also love going out to eat once in a while as well as ordering pizza. Pizza is our absolute favorite food... it's actually what we served at our wedding!

4th of JulyJul 06, 2020
While this year was definitely different, we still got to celebrate and watch some fireworks in the neighborhood.
The picture is what our neighborhood usually does... pre-covid! Epic parade and contest for the kids.
Friday Feels!Jul 04, 2020
Social ActivitiesJul 01, 2020
About the only social activities we are enjoying right now is berry deliveries around the neighborhood!
A good day for berries!Jun 28, 2020
Our neighbors were in for a treat today!
Fun Fact #6Jun 22, 2020
Jola's absolute favorite thing to do is go swimming. She normally hates fetching balls but for some reason if you throw it in the water, she'll retrieve it for hours! We are lucky to have many areas within an hour's drive that allow her to swim in super clean water!
Fun Fact #5Jun 20, 2020
We are probably biased... but Jola is the best dog!
She loves daily walks and hiking, anyone who comes to the front door, and belly rubs. She is surprisingly good walking off leash, she has never been aggressive towards anyone or any dog and never eats food off the floor!
Fun Fact #4Jun 20, 2020
We can see the mountain everyday but if we drive just 30 minutes we can get amazing trails and even better views!
Fun Fact #3Jun 18, 2020
Pat doesn't just cook, he LOVES to cook which is great for me because I don't love cooking and I'm not that great at it! (baking, yes... cooking, no!) I married a good one... that's for sure.
A break in the rainJun 15, 2020
It's been raining a lot here, which is abnormal for Oregon this time of year, but a break in the rain meant we could hit the farm and get berries for the neighborhood!
Fun Fact #2Jun 14, 2020
I have a lot of experience with kids. I started babysitting at 12, I nannied for multiple families throughout graduate school and even now I still watch my friend's kids. Now a days Pat will come with me occasionally to help and the kids absolutely love him. It's pretty freaking cute!
Fun Fact #1Jun 13, 2020
When we bought our current house, we did so because the neighborhood was beautiful, the backyard was perfect for kids to run around or a playset, and every time we stopped by to look at it the sidewalks were busy with people walking their dogs, kids riding their bikes, or families just getting out of the house. When we moved in, this corner of our kitchen was empty and weird so we built this bench not only for storage, but with the foresight that eventually this would be a great spot for a kids table
Is quarantine over yet?Jun 12, 2020
How we all feel about quarantine.
*Funny thing about this picture... Pat and I spend a LOT of time on the floor mainly because we don't allow Jola on the furniture (It rains all winter long and no one wants a wet dog on their furniture!).
My favorite thing about working from homeJun 10, 2020
I don't normally work from home, but based on the pandemic I've been working from home for the past 11 weeks and it looks like I'll continue to do so for a few more months. I can't complain though, it's pretty nice and I love seeing kids bike past ALL day! We have multiple kids on our street and they love to bike back and forth for hours on end... love hearing them squeal as they bike down the little "hill" in front of our house!
Tradesies (definitely not a word!)Jun 10, 2020
We trade berries and in exchange our neighbors bring over everything from beautiful flowers to fresh baked bread to brownies! To say we love our neighbors and our neighborhood is an understatement!
Black Lives MatterJun 06, 2020
This week has been heavy, overwhelming and eye-opening. As we prepare to someday welcome a child into this world, and potentially a child of color, we've been doing our best to educate ourselves on everything from the current situation, to systemic racism, to transracial adoption and one question that really stood out to me from a video about transracial adoption was "is love enough" when adopting a child of color into a white family. The answer was simply "No."
We need love, education, understanding, humility, patience and a community.
Picture is the #Blacklivesmatter protest in our community
Neighborhood kidsJun 04, 2020
We have multiple families with kids in our neighborhood, but the house 3 doors down has two little girls who always play in our front yard and ride their bikes for hours on end so when they dropped off Amish Friendship Bread, I had to make it and pass it on to other kids in the neighborhood. Last summer, these two little girls would always come help us delivery berries to the neighbors, hoping they can do that again! But even given the current situation, it's fun to see the creative things kids are doing during quarantine. Besides the Amish friendship bread exchange, our neighborhood is also filled with painted rocks, teddy bears in windows and fairy treasures that kids can go find and explore while out walking and playing.
Summer TraditionsJun 04, 2020
Summer this year is bound to look a bit different with the pandemic, but normally these are our summer traditions
- Lots of berries... perks of Pat's job. I go to the farm a couple times in the summer to pick berries on the weekends (not nearly as many make it home as I eat while picking!)
- Neighborhood deliveries... one of my favorite things to do is take free berries around to our neighbors in the summer
- Grilling out with friends in our backyard
- Dog playdates in the sun (Jola has lot's of puppy friends)
- Hiking... Oregon is a beautiful place to hike, you have mountains, oceans, waterfalls
- Family trip to New Hampshire for 4th of July with Elizabeth's entire extended family under one house. The week is filled withe laughter, sun, floating in the lake and lots of ice cream
- Pat and I's anniversary, and every year we take a little trip back to where we stayed after we got married and stay for the weekend
- Laying in our backyard on blankets (Jola always jumps on one of our blankets before we can lay down on it!) reading or lounging.
Bear KissesJun 03, 2020
Jola Bear... if you're within striking distance... she's going for the kiss! We call her a drive-by licker as every time she walks past you, she gives you a kiss and keeps on walking.
The best!Jun 02, 2020
One of my favorite things to do in the summer is take fresh berries from Pat around to the neighbors. Definitely one of the easiest ways to make friends and get in on some awesome neighbor trades, like baked goods or borrowing tools.
It's almost berry season!May 20, 2020
Jola and I rarely make an appearance at the farm (where Pat works) but we love it out there! Just a few weeks away from strawberry season!
