Dear friend,
Our family is all about running, hiking, baking, art, music, and traveling (in the last three years we've been to 25 of the 50 states). We have three beautiful, smart and sweet kids, and all three were adopted. We have three really open adoptions and we love it so very much!
This is what open adoption looks like in our home: We see each child’s birth mom multiple times a year, and we keep in touch with their birth dads as well.

We have lots of contact with their birth grandparents too! The kids’ grandparents have really embraced all three kids as their own and love all of them, which is something we so appreciate! We invite birth families along with our families to all birthday parties and other family celebrations. We love seeing all of the love our kids receive. We love our kids’ birth families, they’re family to us!

“I am a birth mother and I placed my daughter with Shaun and Lanette. I've absolutely loved this family ever since I met them. I have known them for 7 years and I have seen them grow and expand their family.
They have made sure that I have felt one of the family and have been very open with the adoption.
I was so excited to hear they wanted to expand again! I can't tell you how much I love seeing them interact with their children and how wonderful they are as parents! They have made sure that I have felt one of the family and have been very open with the adoption and haven't made me feel any less of a person. I know they love my (their) child, me, my husband, and my family. I know that the other birth parents feel the same way! "

"Being one of Lanette's little brothers, I remember her watching us when our parents were away. From leading out various games to telling us stories, she would always try to help us have fun. When she introduced Shaun to all of us, he won us over.
Shaun and Lanette are rock stars!
He was so easy to talk to. And he gave the boys haircuts. Fast forward to now, Shaun and Lanette are rock stars. I've watched them give their children chances to pursue their individual interests. We are very GRATEFUL to have Shaun and Lanette in our lives and that they have graciously let us be a part of their lives. Instead of losing a granddaughter we felt that we have gained another son and daughter. We have always felt that our daughter made a very good choice in placing her daughter with Shaun and Lanette. We have never regretted that decision. They have shown nothing but LOVE to their children. We feel that they are raising them in a healthy and loving environment.
