Rescue 100 is a project run by the Michael Memorial Baptist Church hoping to recruit 100 new foster families. Although the process to become a foster parent can take 3 months and be time consuming in classes, background checks and meetings, many are stepping up in Harrison County, Missouri. Pastor Tony Karnes says the church is partnering with other churches as well as the Harrison County Youth Court and Department of Human Services to bring about the increase of foster parents that are needed in their area. Once an individual or a couple feels the desire to help these children, the process begins. The DHS offers guidance as potential foster parents work on licensing.
