Connie Wilson was just six weeks old when she was adopted by her parents over seventy years ago. It wasn’t until sixth grade that she learned her parents were not her biological parents—and she didn’t learn it from them. A schoolmate pulled a mean move when she started chanting on the playground, “You’re adopted, you’re adopted!” Connie didn’t say anything to her parents, she just carried the weight of unanswered questions.
Now, 70 years old, Connie has written her story and hopes that the age of adoption secrets is over. Shame associated with adoption is disappearing and that’s good news for all members of the adoption triad!
