We blinked and December and January flew by before we knew it. As with everything this year, our holiday was anything but normal. We spent our date nights in December driving around looking at Christmas lights and even went to one of the big drive thru events in the area to kick off Christmas week. We tried to keep some of our normal traditions alive with added safety precautions to keep us and our family members safe and were able to see everyone at some point through the holiday season.
We brought in the new year with our close friends that live down the street and their little ones. After tucking the little ones in bed, the adults spent the night playing Cards Against Humanity trying to outdo each other. We laughed and reminisced on past New Years reflecting on how far we have all come as friends. It was surreal sitting there with my best friend of over 15 years with our husbands. At 20/21 our biggest joy was getting together to catch the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy; now we get together with the littles to play hide and seek, game night with the husbands or the two of us sneak off to Target to sip Starbucks and walk the aisles chatting.
Wyatt and I recently started renovating our guest bathroom. It now has a bright fresh coat of paint awe will soon install a new vanity and storage unit.
Life is just flying by but we are enjoying the journey together. I’m sure before we know it it’ll be Spring Break.
