Great news for the foster children of Texas! CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) in the state have been pushing for a foster ombudsman to help foster children have a stronger voice, and now that is about to happen. There are about 30,000 children in foster care in the state of Texas and there is often so much red tape to cut through that their concerns are not being heard. Trying to get to the right people and navigating bureaucracy is frustrating for anyone, but especially for a child who hasn’t had the support of a strong parent. Having a state ombudsman to hear the foster children’s concerns and complaints will make a difference.
