Created for the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, The Story of I is a 2-minute animated video introducing the importance of individuals – particularly each individual foster child. There are currently more than 100,000 foster children in America waiting to be adopted, each one deserving of a loving home and family. And every year more than 20,000 of those children age out of the system and are left on their own.

For those unable to foster or to adopt, there are other ways to help these children. A donation of money toward an adoption grant is always welcome. There are many agencies that accept grants placed on specific children, offered to specific parents, or simply donated to a general fund to help. If finances don’t allow you to donate, a donation of your time is welcome for special events throughout the world.

There is a way for everyone to help!

The Dave Thomas Foundation is a non-profit agency whose takes upon themselves the “responsibility to be the voice of foster care adoption, so that every child finds a family.” Working throughout North America, their values are:

• Every child deserves to live in a safe, loving and permanent family.

• No child should linger in foster care or leave the system at age 18 without a permanent family of his or her own.

• Every child is adoptable.
