Twin boys, born in 1946 in Germany, were placed in two separate adoptive families shortly after birth. Their mother was ill and unable to care for them. George Skrzynecky and Lucian Poznanski didn’t know they were adopted for many years. At age 17, Lucian learned of his adoption and begun the hunt to find his birth family. It was while finding information about his birth mother, who was sent to live in a work camp in Poland during the war, that Lucian discovered he was a twin. Through the Red Cross Restoring Family Links Program, Lucian found George, who had moved to the U.S.  They have since been able to reunite and are looking forward to enjoying time together as brothers.
