There are currently more than 2,600 children in foster care in Utah. But only 1,300 families are licensed to provide foster homes.
This video highlights a St. George, Utah family of nine, which includes biological, adoptive, and foster children. The incredible parents share the joy and the difficulties of foster parenting.
Because of the great need, Utah Foster Care is hosting seven public forums to educate and answer questions the community may have regarding foster care. It takes about 32 hours of training through Utah Foster Care to become licensed in Utah. The organization wants interested individuals to know that they do not have to married or own their home to be foster parents.
