It’s the most basic of human rights: the right to know who you are. Yet filmmaker Jeff Togman, along with thousands of other adoptees throughout the world, are denied that right because of sealed adoption records.

Jeff was raised in a loving family and fears that searching for his birth parents will show a lack of gratitude and even be an act of betrayal. His feelings aren’t unique. Many adoptees throughout the world truly are grateful for their families, and yet have a longing to know who they were before: before they were an Anderson or a Hashimoto or a Jones.

In this full-length film we are taken on Jeff’s journey of finding himself. Once becoming a father, long-ago buried feelings of abandonment and uncertainty reappear for Jeff. He longs to know his biology and his personal history. Watch as real life becomes drama made for viewing in We’re Not Blood.
