Our panel of birth family members share their experiences in making the choice to place for adoption. Each situation is unique, and for each birth mother, the choice is carefully thought out, and much planning, praying, pondering, discussion and love goes into making the decision. Even with input from other birth family members, ultimately, the decision belongs to the birth mother. It’s a tough time, but at that point there is much growth for all involved. Although the decision affects all members of the birth family, those who are not the birth mother need to support her in whatever her choice is. Acceptance, support and love are essential to birth mothers.
