Ruth Elizabeth Davis, nicknamed The Fifth Warner Brother or The First Lady of Film, always put her work first. She acted in 100 + films in a span of about 50 years.

Even with ailments that set he back, Davis worked harder and harder to obtain good roles in movies and even went to the extent of suing Warner Brothers, who wouldn’t allow her to break her 7-year contract with them. After the lawsuit, the one role she wanted but never got was as Scarlett O'Hara in "Gone With the Wind."
