Biography

1915-1982

Swedish-American Actress

Bergman's mother died when she was two and her father when she was 12. She then lived with an aunt, who died six months later, and then with an uncle. Her first film was Munkbrogreven in 1934. Other films in her long career included Intermezzo, Casablanca, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Gaslight, Stromboli, Anastasia, Murder on the Orient Express, Autumn Sonata, and A Woman Called Golda. She received three Oscars.
