Biography

McShane was adopted at three weeks of age by a retired US Army officer and his wife; his mother was a Métis Indian. His behavior when he was 16 was so extreme (including trying to burn down his school) that his parents had him committed to a psychiatric hospital for six months.

At 18 he joined the army, then went to university, where he began to act. He has lived in Britain since 1990.

His credits include One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, Who's Line Is it Anyway?, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Crazy for a Kiss.
