Biography

Myners was adopted from an orphanage in Cornwall as a young child. He started his career as a teacher, but soon became involved in business.

He has risen to be the chairman of the Gartmore fund management group and non-executive chairman of Guardian Media Group, and was appointed head of the UK Treasury review of institutional investment in 2000.

He has no interest in his birth family.
