Adoption is comprised of many emotional acts and events. Though it can be common to think of the negatives, there are too many positives to count! The ornate beauty of adoption is manifest constantly in the lives of those blessed by it.

These adoptive parents, or should I simply say, parents, say the sweetest things about their children that will give you a glimpse of the joy they feel:

“You have permission to BE THE PARENT, no “adoptive” before it – Because that is what you are and who your child needs you to be.” Madeleine Melcher

“The adoption took time. The love arrived instantly.” Pinterest (Adoption Quotes)

“I always questioned if I was ready to adopt. Then I realized, no child is ready to be an orphan.” Pinterest (Adoption Quotes)

“However motherhood comes to you, it’s a miracle.” Pinterest (Adoption Quotes)

“My adoptive son called me daddy today instead of Adam for the first time. I can’t stop crying; I’m so happy!” Whisper (18 Adoption Stories That Will Give You The Feels)

“I adopted a kid yesterday. She’s currently drinking hot cocoa and saying I love you every second. I couldn’t be more happy.” Whisper (18 Adoption Stories That Will Give You The Feels)

“My daughter got beat up today for being adopted. She told the kids, “Well at least I wasn’t a mistake! My parents chose me; yours got stuck with you!” Whisper (18 Adoption Stories That Will Give You The Feels)

“My adopted daughter pretends she can’t do certain things like ride a bike or swim so my wife and I can “teach” her. It helps us feel like real parents.” Whisper (18 Adoption Stories That Will Give You The Feels)

Even though adoption sounds like a fairytale coming from the hearts and minds of a loving parent, there are hard parts of adoption. I think that’s why it can be so hard to find an uplifting or positive message from birth mothers. But I know from experience that it still shines rays of light onto an otherwise dark experience. It can just be a little hard to put it into words. That’s why I think this one glorious quote says enough, with the help of an adoptive mother, to focus on that ray of light.

“He is mine in a way that he will never be hers, yet he is hers in a way that will never be mine. And so together, we are motherhood.” Desha Wood

Of course, none of this happens if not for the children. They are what adoption is all about! And these loving mementos from adopted children show just how worth it the whole process is for everyone.

“Truly loving parents support a search. Truly loving birth parents choose open adoption. I would know.” Whisper (Children Tell All: This Is How I Really Feel About My Open Adoption)

“I’m adopted. When I was little, I dreamed that I was really a princess and my parents gave me up to protect me from the bad guy.” Whisper (18 Adoption Stories That Will Give You The Feels)

“People often mention how much I look like my mother. I’m adopted and I smile to myself because it makes me feel like I’m truly their child.” Whisper (18 Adoption Stories That Will Give You The Feels)

“My [adoptive] mother just gave me the wedding dress that she and her mother wore on their wedding day saying, ‘I want you to keep it in the family.’ I literally cried in the closet as I put it on!” Whisper (18 Adoption Stories That Will Give You The Feels)

“I’m adopted, and I’m the complete opposite of my family. Literally, [they’re] white, short people, and I’m a 6’3” black dude. I love them anyway; they’ve given me a great life! #SayNoToRacism.” Whisper (18 Adoption Stories That Will Give You The Feels)
