Born Levin, NZ & Seeking Birth Father
I hope you're out there and find this. I harbour no animosity towards you, and would like to make contact with you.
I have made contact with my birthmum, and although it was a positive experience, have found she is reluctant and not forthcoming with information on you. There have been some inconsistencies with the details of her stories.
I was born Jonathan Edwards in Levin, NZ in May 1970.
You may have met my birthmum Zelda (age 25 at the time) in Riccarton/Christchurch, possibly at the Baptist Church. She was separated from her marriage, had RN qualifications, and had a year old infant daughter when you met (1969?). You may have been married at the time, and were in Christchurch with your job without your wife and children.
You may have been in contact with Zelda when she worked in Fielding when she took a job as domestic help until my birth.
I now live in British Columbia Canada.
If you read this, please consider making contact.
Have you obtained your New Zealand Birth Certificate - the original one?
I believe New Zealand law now enables you to obtain it. From that you would have full name of birth father and a start to the trail
regards
David

Hi there:
I live in Christchurch, NewZealand so if there is anything I can do or check out for you let me know.
Bit of a reversal story here - I was born in Canada, adoptive family immigrated to NZ when I was 7, so I searched in Canada from NewZealand whereas you are searching from Canada in NZ!!
You say you have made contact with your birthmum - did you go through the Dept of Social Welfare ( now known as Children, Young Persons and their Families) ?? Do you know if your birthmum told them who your Father was.
I have spoken to many adoptees here in NZ and they all say if no veto was placed by your father and his name was recorded on your birth certificate then it is a relatively straight forward process.
You can email me privately if you would like some help here - not promising anything but I would be only too pleased to help where I can. My email address can be found via the members area.
As a recently reunited adoptee I understand how important this information is to you.
