I was born February 15, 1966 in New Orleans, the agency handling the adoption was Volunteers of America. All i know is nonidentifying information - my bmom was 16 yrs. old and played the piano. My bfather was 19 yrs.old and a college student. I am searching for any relactives, not just bparents. I dont even know the hospital where i was born, it is not listed on my bcert of info. from VOA. The records are sealed here in La. which is so frustrating !!!!! I am married and have 2 great kids and wonderful parents who raised me, bu there is always that nagging feeling about who i really am - i also would like to know more medical info since i have had some serious female health problems and asthma/sinus problems. ANY info at all would be appreciated, i wish everyone luck in their searches and God Bless !!!!

There is no longer a requirement of one hour of counseling before you register with Louisiana...
Louisiana Adoption Registry
Contact the registry at (225) 342-9922 or 1-800-259-2456 and request a Voluntary Registry packet which will provide all the information necessary for registration. The process includes completion of an affidavit and a $25.00 fee. There is also a counseling requirement that must be met prior to voluntary release of any identifying information, but this is not required in order to register.
Steps!
1. Contact either the home if it is still in operation or the state if the home is no longer in operation and request the "non-identifying information" for your adoption.
