Hi, I am wanting to get some information & to find out if this is possible.
I am 24 years old. I have not had contact with my bmother since I was 12 years old. My parents divorced when I was 7, my bmother had me and when I was 12 I chose to leave to live with my bfather. My bmother wanted nothing to do with me, I would try to call and she would just scream and holler at me until I would hang up and finally quit calling. My bfather is great. I just want to have my mother removed from my birth certificate. I want her to have no sort of available information to be able to hunt me down when she realizes how much of a mistake she has made. I am divorced, with a son, which she has never seen. I doubt she even knows his name, much less his birthdate. Her sister was and is still more of a mother to me. I would like to make her my adopted mom, and she has said she would like that also. But I also would like to keep my father's name on my birth certificate.
If the adoption has to have my aunt & her new husband's name on it then is there a way just to remove the biological mother? I live in the Savannah, GA area, Liberty County.
My biological mother lives in AZ, but not sure where. Would she have to sign papers being I am a legal adult?
Any help would be great.
Thanks for your time,
