I was adopted myself and we are eager to have our first child but have no idea how to get started. can anyone assist us in the process and what is all required to find a girl. The best way to start is find a reliable agency. I used Wide Horizons for Children in MA and they handle cases all across the country. Mary Lou Eshelman is the person in charge of the Philippine program. They are wondeful people to deal with and will stay with you long after you bring your child home. Ask them to send out their quarterly newsletter to you and see what they do for their adoptive parents. There are some other agencies out by you that are also great. I think Holt is one of them.

HI,
My husband is Filipino, and was also adopted from an orphanage in the Philippines. We are going back to that same orphanage to pick up our new daughter, age 2, in a few weeks. Please send me a pm, or whatever that private message thing is called, and I can give you all the info on adopting. Don't let people tell you there are more boys either, cause the orphanage we're going to is predominantly girls! You can adopt from 6 months to 16 years, and most of them are generally healthy. Good luck, and I hope to hear from you.
