Hi,
ICAB will send "Packet 3" to the National Visa Center in a couple of days. Would anyone know how long it usually take for a medical interview to be scheduled?
Thank you!

I know somebody who is in this situation. When they received the approval (I-717)from their local INS office it was forwarded to National visa center and then, the NVC took 4 weeks before they cable it to US Embassy in Manila (checking for completeness, encoding etc. etc). When Manila received the visa they will schedule the child for medical after 11 days. Within 3 to four day if the x-ray is ok, your agency can tell you If you can travel.
I copy and pasted a paragraph from another thread I replied to. It give our dates (which are pretty normal, except the us side of things). Right now the U.S. Embassy hasn't handed over her VISA approval from her embassy appearance to the DSWD, which should have happened within a day or two, that was back on April 2. They told us this wait is NOT normal - they have seen it happen before, but usually it is just because of missing a document, but for us, they haven't asked for any documents or given us a reason why they are waiting, so don't base your timeline on this last part!! Congratulations!!!!!
Our waiting time was: dossier made it to Philippines in beginning of July 2003, and our approval letter was dated July 9, 2003 - so pretty fast. Then our match proposal was dated Oct. 30, 2003, and we accepted the day we got it, which was right before Thanksgiving. Our immigration office here was extremely slow with the I-171, and we ended up having to send in a congressman and the Senator to get it done. We had taken it in in early Dec. and finally got the approval on Feb 25, 2004. From there, they forward it on to the embassy in Manila - takes about three weeks or so to get there. Then a sw will schedule a visa medical - usually about a week later again. Then they will schedule an embassy appearance - about a week later again (this is what our little one just did). Then the embassy approves that (if they don't need any other documentation) and sends it on to the DSWD for travel approval. They approve your child for travel out of the country, and send it on to ICAB, who then emails your agency that you can come! Hope this helps!!
