Hello---- I contacted the lady at the courts who assists adoptees. Her name is Rosalee Schottel. Phone is 816-435-4788. She was able to find my adoption file. There was enough information in my file, ie names and places, to warrant a search by a court approved confidential intermediary. This seems generally the case for adoptees born 1940 and beyond, ie a social history. Perhaps prior births have so little due to the advent of social workers, I really do not know. It is unfortunate . It would still be worth a try, however, so I would recommend the adoptee request their non-identifying and identifying information through the courts. You never know what might be there !!!! If you would send e-mail , I can forward the court web-site info to you. Best regards----- Ellen
Hello-
I am just updating to stay on the boards.
I am a white female born at the Willows in 1955. I am seeking anyone who might have stayed there or worked there between April and the First week in August. I have a lot of information but still am missing a few pieces to the puzzle.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I have exhausted funds.

I've known I was adopted since I was very young (baby) but I never knew I had another birth certificate until a year or so ago. I applied for my original birth certificate a few weeks ago and I received it today. I also found out my birth Mother's name and that I was actually born at the Willows. Now I'm doing all this research about this place and my birth Mother who was 19 at the time.
