My dh just told me he would be interested in doing an adoption from the Phillipines. We have 2 kids adopted domestically. It has been a while since the last time we adopted. I have forgotten everything. Anyway, I know international adoptions have a whole new set of rules. How much does it cost and anyone have ant suggestions an where I go to start!! Thanx a bunch! Excited to be back in the process! never thought my dh would agree to do this again! Kathy
Welcome!
Please pm me if you'd like loads of details, costs, agencies, timelines (although those change drastically from one adoption to the next). We just picked up our daughter 3 1/2 months ago, it cost us $14,000 for absolutely everything, including travel, and took us just over a year from gathering papers until picking her up. My husband and I help out the orphanage we adopted from (my husband was also adopted from there), and we are also in contact with ICAB with a few things! We have tons of threads/posts on this website, so I would suggest reading to your hearts content, and if you pm me your email address, I can send you the document I have on costs, agencies, etc. Happy journey!!

Hello-
Just wanted to say welcome- we also have adopted from the Philippines-twice, but our last was 4-1/2 yrs. ago. Our costs were quite a bit less, but we are in Canada, the time frame for us was the same, about 1 year from start of homestudy to picking up our child. Orphanagemon of course has more up to date info. The Philippines has been kind of untapped here, but I know of 5 families from here who are also applying too. It does my heart good to hear of more Filipino children being given forever families!
God Bless
