Hi - we expect our birthmother to deliver any time now. Asking my birthmother's mom for suggestion as to what gift I should buy my birthmother she said a trip to disneyland for her and her 6 yr old. But my attorney just informed me that I am not allowed to give such gifts and should limit myself to $100 - $150 max. Now I am wondering what to buy for her. Any ideas? tks, TB

We gave our soon-to-be daughter's firstmom a mizpah with the child's name and birthdate engraved on the back. She keeps half and we will give our daughter the other half at an appropriate age. She absolutley loved it and told me the other day that she has not taken it off since we gave it to her.

That is a GREAT idea! We gave our children's birthmom's birth stone necklaces of the children. For one BMom we bought her a necklaces that has the kittle kids whos clothes are the birthstone. You know what I mean? Well we gave her one with our daughter as well as her other 2 children.
We also gave them a Birth Mother's Memory book. You can get them on line at Amazon. They are AWESOME!

hi,
we gave our birthmother a silver locket with a lock of dd's hair in it. We also bought a picture album and put pictures we'd taken at the placement ceremony in it. it had plenty of room for other photos we'd send. We also gave bgrandma a silver box with a lock of dd's hair. Everything went over quite well. The locket costs more than your $150 limit, but bmom had already signed, so we felt it was okay.

michellemartin,
ON the engraving, you mean the name the birthfamily gave the baby, correct?
THanks
By the way, I am having a little trouble with what to write in a little note that I will be putting in the photo album. I don't want to use the wrong words. What are some things not to say?
I am so nervous I will screw things up
