Hello anyone. I just moved to Allentown,Pa a year ago. I do not know anyone! I have a 2 year old son and we need friends! I just found out that I can not have anymore kids of my own, so I was thinking about fostering. I love kids very much, and I know they love me because they never want to leave my house! I don't know if thats a good or bad thing! I miss having a noisy house. Is there anyone who can tell me if fostering is good for me? I do not drive and I am a stay at home mom.

Hugs from another PA gal!
Sounds like you have a lot to sort through. Fostering is something really requires a strong and caring heart to do.
You can find out about foster parenting in pa at:PA Foster Parenting
As far as meeting people and finding friends. Do you have any hobbies? My main hobby is scrapbooking and their is a large scrapbooking community in PA. Feel free to PM me for more info

Where in Pa are u? My hobbies are knitting, reading , anything that is fun,and playing with kids. Sometimes I think I still am one.
Is not being able to drive going to be an issue with fostering? I keep reading about all these classes everyone is taking. Where do they take place and will my son (who I will not leave with anyone I do not know) be able to go?
You can email me direct at suedom@rcn.com if you want.
Hey,
I sent you an email too.
Well the reading hobby immediately leads me to suggesting that you check out the local library for story times. Great way to hook up with other kids and moms and get to pick up some books too.
As far as the car thing, I don't think that would be a problem. Espeically if you have access to public transportation. But if you get in touch with an agency they will be able to let you know on that. I would also ask them about your son and the classes.

hi dragonqueen. i am in your area...and there are some good agencies around here.
i have a 19 month old fs, he is our first placement, and we are enjoying it very much. and as a matter of fact, we too are looking for some play dates. i am a stay at home mom, and it would be great to have M play with some other kids his age.
if you want any info about the agencies..(i did a lot of research on them), just drop me a message.
