My husband and I are in the process of foster/adopting 3 wonderful kids. We always figured we'd start out with 1 infant, but when we heard of these children we couldn't refuse. They have been our biggest blessing, and we couldn't have asked for a better outcome in our lives.
I wrote a book called my new life about the process the kids have gone through so far (as if my daughter was the narrator) hoping to help her and other children see that they aren't alone. We go through a lot of the questions and just normal kid stuff that has come up so far in our journey, and I plan to continue in a series.
So, tonight I was thinking about putting a few pages of helpful info for parents in the back of the book. I figured I could put local support groups (to start), and some helpful internet links (with permission) and some local fun places to take kids where they can just be kids.
I was wondering if you all may have some other suggestions of resources you might like to see in a book for your kids about adoption/foster care? My book will not be widely published as of yet, but I know when we got our children placed we really had no idea what our community had to offer for children. We are still learning :-) So.......... any suggestions would e great, and if I can get businesses, or resources permission to list them then I most definately will.
Thanks Guys,
Carrie :-)
