We just did a week of respite care for our fs siblings. There are three of them and they are now looking for a new foster home for them. We are thinking about taking them in. We have a few weeks to decide as their current foster parents are not in a hurry to move them out. However, they are pretty sure the oldest has Reactive Attachment Disorder. I am wondering if any of you have any good resources for me that I could devour in a few days about RAD. Or, if you can offer any personal information about what we might run into with at least one child with RAD.
We have taken in a sibling group of 3, the oldest now 5.... and she has RAD (we believe). She is not as severe as some children, but had about 2/3 to 3/4 of the symptoms. We are adopting these children, so we have looked for parenting methods we could continue to use to help us through. The things we've found have been working great! I am not sure of I can give websites or book names, etc, so if you would like info on what we found and on her RAD let me know.
My email is carriewoman1977@hotmail.com email any time!
Good luck!
